Randy Leung
|
Randy, a 3rd year medical student at the University
of Toronto, had originally retired from the team in 2003 due to
the commencement of his internship duties. However, with a depleted
roster, the future Dr. Leung came back to the team during a relative
lull in his hospital duties to provide veteran leadership for the
first half of its season. Currently beginning his rotation in obstetrics
and gynecology, Randy is not only a decorated scholar and excellent
paddler, but also a former high school sprinter and National Karate
champion. He has made a strong contribution to the team's engine
room for three years, and was a member of the Greater Toronto Dragon
Boat Club's Premier Men's "B" Team. The team wishes nothing
but the best to a nice guy who thrived on competition and helped
others around him to get better. He will be sorely missed by the
team.

| Simon Hatch |
Simon Hatch, a recent graduate of the University of Toronto's
Computer Science program was in his first year as a Piranha when
a job opportunity in Montreal arose that he could not turn down.
Simon, who has paddled for both the U of T ViCrew and New Dragonz,
has been a key addition to the Piranhas engine room and hopes to
return to the team for the 2005 season.
Amidst the departure of two key paddlers comes the
return of two paddlers. Rookie Arun Nayak, a former professional
cyclist in Europe returned from a potentially life-threatening infection
from water at the Sunnyside Pavillion's training facility. Second-year
Piranha Glyndon Bonnick came out of retirement and Willie 'Vatoloco'
Desintonio returns to the Piranhas after the conclusion of season
for the RBC Royal Dragons.
